Abstract

The article examines some adaptations of the short novel Guttaperčevyj mal’čik (1883) by Dmitry Grigorovich and is mainly interested in the figure of the protagonist and the variations that concern him. Among the texts considered there are two cinematographic transpositions (Kas’janov 1915; Gerasimov 1957) two theatricals (Nikitina 2014; Cypina 2015), a mention in the musical field (Otto Dix 2012) and the book The rubber boy. Free translation from Russian of the story by D. V. Grigorovitch (1910) by Renato Fucini. The analysis focuses on some narratological aspects, with particular attention to the Italian publication. The final reflection concerns the different representations of the child’s image and the symbolic readings of his body.
