This essay reconstructs the structure and distinctive features of Riccardo Fubini’s archive, donated to the Scuola Normale Superiore (SNS) at Fubini’s request and currently undergoing reorganisation. In the first part, starting from the donations of the archives of Mario and Riccardo Fubini, the article analyses the complexity of the notion of a personal archive within the framework of the SNS’s extensive documentary heritage, which grew mainly in the last decades of the 20th century and has undergone various organisational and descriptive changes in order to respond to current challenges. In the second section, the article analyses and describes Riccardo Fubini's archive and, at the same time, illustrates the methods of reorganisation followed with regard to the archival material and the initial research results. The reconstruction of this unique personal archive reveals the possibility of observing a veritable studio of study and work on the Renaissance between culture and politics by one of the leading scholars of the Renaissance.
