Alcune osservazioni sugli orientalismi del napoletano

Abstract

The paper focuses, with a lexicographical and etymological perspective, on some Orientalisms of the Neapolitan dialect, according to the means of transmission: Sicilian mediation, Ibero-Romance mediation, Persian-Arabic-Latin tradition and Turkism. The survey, which is also based on the materials collected for the Orientalia section of Lessico Etimologico Italiano, establishes an indispensable link with the Dizionario Etimologico e Storico del Napoletano in relation to the large part of Orientalisms of the Neapolitan dialect.
