Le prime due edizioni (1512 e 1526) dello 'Spicilegium' di Lucio Giovanni Scoppa (II)

Abstract

The article is the second part of a contribution dedicated to the Spicilegium by Lucio Giovanni Scoppa, a Latin-vernacular glossary. The contribution presents two editions of the work: the first one (1512), which reflects the original structure of the glossary, and the second one (1526), which represents the first stage of the work’s evolution. The aim is to make available and compare two rare editions of a work that underwent numerous rewritings and revisions due to the richness of its lemmata and vernacular glosses. Today, the Spicilegium constitutes a valuable resource for those interested in the study of 16th-century vocabulary and, particularly in its earliest editions, serves as a fundamental tool for research into Neapolitan and Southern Italian lexicon.
