THE REGULATION OF INFORMATION AND COMMUNICATION TECHNOLOGIES IN SITES OF HISTORICAL AND CULTURAL INTEREST: A STUDY FOR MONTERIGGIONI
Abstract
The municipality of Monteriggioni, destination of the Francigena way of elevated historical
and iconographic value, every year hosts numerous pilgrims that aggravate the condition of
general inadequacy of the logistic infrastructures for the fruition of the places and the
protection of the patrimony. The study is centered on the definition of an information
system for the management and the correct and effective transfer of information in order to
support the use of tourists and citizens and to enhance the material and immaterial heritage
of Monteriggioni. Based on the structured knowledge, the study reaches the definition of
the Urban Information System requirements aimed at controlling the interface between
users and the architectural and landscape heritage of the site of historical and cultural
interest.
