Abstract

TACTICAL REGENERATION THROUGH URBAN ART AND DIGITAL ENHANCEMENT PATHS
Abstract
In last decades the regeneration of degraded areas of contemporary city is becoming the focus of all the disciplines regarding the development of territory. Public space renovation represents the priority challenge to trigger virtuous processes of physical and socio-economic regeneration. As an alternative to major urban regeneration interventions, bottom-up, participatory, inexpensive and rapidly implemented practices are spreading. We refer to urban acupuncture interventions or Tactical Urbanism which are able to regenerate small public spaces rebuilding a sense of identity in the local communities. We aim to focus attention on urban art and on the role of ICT for its enhancement. This paper will illustrate some recent interventions characterized by innovative open air exhibition projects through the use of Augmented Reality apps, with particular attention to those initiatives that have activated participatory phenomena of local communities and whose ultimate goal is urban regeneration rather than the inclusion of the route in a commercial format for mass tourism.
