Abstract

Women and Football. Gender equality kicked by reports? The Paper deals with the mediatic Representation of professional female football Players made by Reports. In a special way by professional Reports. With the aim of comparing different situations selected among the European countries, the authors will examine a range of UK and German Reports in addition to the Italian one. The countries selection was guided from football popularity in all of these places; the collected corpus was investigated in a contrastive perspective, particularly useful in such a kind of analysis, pointed also to underline the potential changes happened along a short Diachrony.

Stefania Cavagnoli, Università di Roma Tor Vergata

Stefania Cavagnoliis is associate Professor in Linguistics at the Department of Humanities at Università di Roma Tor Vergata. She teaches, among other subjects, Applied Linguistics. In 2013 she obtained the qualification for full-professorship. She is the director of the University Language Center and the Rector’s delegate for Language Teaching.

Francesca Dragotto, Università di Roma Tor Vergata

Francesca Dragotto is associate Professor at Università di Roma Tor Vergata. Her wide fields of interests include semantics, lexicon and pragmatics, both synchronic and diachronic. In recent years, her interests have been focusing on text analysis, seen as a cognitive, cultural and social whole, where each speaker re-builds their representation of the world and of the social roles and norms interacting in its context.

Pierluigi Vaglioni, Policlinico Umberto I di Roma; Fondazione Santa Lucia (Università di Roma Tor Vergata)

Pierluigi Vaglioni teaches English Culture in Secondary School Hospital Section at Policlinico Umberto I in Rome. He also teaches Scientific English for Health Care B Scat Fondazione Santa Lucia (Università di Roma Tor Vergata). Translator and linguistic consultant on communication and medical writing. Has published short stories about football with Giulio Perrone Editore.
