The contribution reconstructs, starting from the experiences of operators and users of the listening center (CAM)TIME OUT of Salerno, the mental and behavioral universe of battering men.
By reconstructing their paths and their experiences it was possible to verify how, from a long-term perspective, the action of the listening centers was crucial to historicize the gender difference and to deconstruct the dominant models of masculinity.
At the end of the investigation it was thus possible to bring out an aspect that is too often unexplored but fundamental for the successful outcome of actions to combat gender violence.
In light of these considerations it should be emphasized that the intervention cannot be limited to women but must also involve men. This enlargement of perspective is necessary to bring to light the existence of a male issue linked to the phenomenon of gender violence.
