Abstract

The Torneo delle Regioni is the most important national amateur football youth event, this year saw Trentino as a scenario for its 56th edition. Campania, in addition to male tournaments, has participated with the Women's Under23 Representative, reaching for the first time in the history of the competition the third place. Since I was the breeder of this Representative, in the ten intense days of competition, most throughout the preparatory period, I was able to accumulate a series of experiences that I have projected in a universe that I first knew later, having never trained in Female Football. This work, starting with this knowledge, aims to provide an exhaustive and complete overview of the state of the art of Women's Football in Italy and Campania: from the historical point of view, discovering its origins, trying to understand why this discipline can not succeed in a country where football is national sport; from a methodological point of view, to understand the differences between physical and athletic traits that exist between male and female football players; from the technical and tactical point of view, to see if there are differences in this field as well; from a psychological point of view, because surely the female psychology is different from the male one and therefore the leadership of a team proposes far different questions and solutions in the two genres. At the end of the discussion of all these points, mainly from the field experience with the girls and the staff who made up our expedition, you will finally have a general picture of what it is and could be the Women's Football in Italy and Campania.
