The paper examines the issues underlying the recently announced intent of the President of the Campania Region, Vincenzo De Luca, to modify the electoral system presently in force in said Region, with the explicit aim of allowing the current President to run for a third consecutive term. To this end, the matter is considered in light of its most immediate precedents (regarding Regions Lombardia, Veneto and Marche), as well as of some elements pertaining to the context
