Abstract

Pier Luigi Pretti (1868-1934), an amateur photographer and traveler, used a binocular photographic lens to capture the Irpinia landscape, which enabled him to concentrate and expand his visual perspective. His three-dimensional photographs bring the countryside to life, evoking the same sense of liveliness found in inhabited centers and other locations he visited over a period of more than twenty years. This analysis focuses on a portion of Pretti's extensive body of work, which is preserved in the Matania archive in Naples.
