Abstract

The study of Arconati’s apograph by Vincenzo Corazza documents the scholar’s attention to the science of water. A manuscript intended as an instrument to give new impetus to the figure of the architect-engineer is a further testimony of the liveliness of the Neapolitan debate on hydraulic engineering at the end of the Eighteenth Century. The study of the few, but significant, variations present in this manuscript also opens up the problem of relations between the few known apographs from Leonardo on Del moto e misura dell'acqua.
