Abstract

The Mancuso Village, built starting in 1929, is the first example of a hotel village in Calabria built entirely of wood and constitutes a historicized and identifying complex of the Catanzaro Sila. Conceived to welcome tourists in the summer season, the village included different residential structures capable of satisfying different types of stay for the holidays. The complex is an example of a Heritage Community since the local population still recognizes it, despite its current abandonment, a significant role in local initiatives. The aim of the papers is to propose a careful analisys on the expansion plan proposed by Enitea and by the Ente Provinciale del Turismo of Catanzaro in the post-war period. The proposal of this cited project was to replace the buildings in wood with masonry.
