Abstract

One of the most important Monasteries of the Order of the Cistercian in the province of Ourense is that of Santa María de Melón, a group that reveals, in spite of its state of ruin, the various events that the Order went through. over time, from its beginnings to its decline. It is their state of abandonment, and their character of ruin, for many years, which has turned this religious center into an important work to understand the reality of the different monastic spaces in our Region
