The article discusses the role and the functioning of three key figures of Giorgio Orelli’s poetic work, from L’ora del tempo (1962) to Il collo dell’anitra (2001). The mentioned figures are alliterations and other kinds of syllabic and consonantal repetitions, which can be seen as Orelli’s phonic trademark; the use of rhymes - especially when they gain a structural power - questioned in relation to the coeval Italian poetic landscape and in opposition to their traditional use; lastly, the anaphora, which I examine in its architectural and organising function and mostly when used to give cohesion to distant portions of a text.
