The article proposes an analysis of the syntactic, lexical and phono-expressive peculiarities of Colloqui con il professor Y (Einaudi, 1971), an Italian translation of Entretiens avec le professeur Y by Louis-Ferdinand Céline, signed by Gianni Celati and Lino Gabellone. The reading is also based on the critical-theoretical insights that inspired this original experiment of paired “mimic translation”.
