Abstract

This article examines the use of verb tenses in the narrative works of Italo Calvino, considering their function both in terms of deixis and aspect. In particular, it analyzes the use of the present tense as a narrative tense, exploring its exclusive usage as well as its combinations with the historical tenses of the indicative mood.
