Abstract

This glossary is intended to shed light on the presence of archaisms, cultisms, and neologisms in the prose of music critic Mario Bortolotto (1927–2017), whose writing is distinguished by its complexity and stylistic sophistication. Moreover, the glossary provides a framework for examining the stylistic affinities and literary influences that link Bortolotto’s prose to the essayistic tradition of the early twentieth century.
