This article analyses two Italian-language documents: one from the chancellery of the Kingdom of Poland and the other from the chancellery of the Crimean Khanate (years 1513-1514). The essay enhances knowledge of the Italian language used in international diplomacy by examining the historical and cultural context in which these diplomatic documents were written. In addition, the peculiarities of the language employed in the documents, which deviates significantly from the literary model of Tuscany, are discussed.
