Leopoldo Zea was one of the major American thinkers of the twentieth century and contributed significantly to the development and definition of Latin American philosophy. The article reconstructs the main stages of Zea's cultural journey: from the attacks on positivism, to the definition of an autonomous and original Latin American philosophy, from adherence to the philosophy of liberation and Third Worldist positions, up to the reflections on the individual and his rights.Downloads
