Abstract

Thanks to the preceding remarks, several necessary clarifications could be identified: medieval sociology is not a call for disciplinary fusion but advocates the concrete identification of points of convergence between the two fields, which implies thinking of sociological notions in terms of ideal types. After discussing some of the suggestions and comments, two examples are proposed: the priest-magician and the academic state of a symbolic economy.
