This preface highlights the continuity between the first section of the Parole nove project on the classical and biblical resonances of the lexicon of the Vita nova and new studies which expand this perspective by examining the movements of the soul between rhetoric and medicine. After having shown that the Vita nova develops a language which integrates literary, philosophical, and theological traditions, this second section explores the emotional and psychological dimensions of the work.
