Abstract

Many scholarly studies touch on historical and juridical aspects of the consilia (juridical opinions) and pleas of the late Medieval and Renaissance period. At the same time the bulk of the extant consilia and collections of consilia (libri consiliorum and consilia diversorum) preserved in archives and in manuscript libraries are still waiting to be inventoried or digitalized. Even in their intrinsic complexity, through an accurate description it is possible to distinguish originals from copies and identify in this way the handwriting of many jurists.
