No. 17 (2016): Engendering Habitat III: Facing the Global Challenges in Cities

This special issue of TRIA includes a number of selected papers presented at the Engendering Habitat III Conference held in Madrid in October 2016. The conference was organized by the European COST network genderSTE and by the UNESCO Chair on Gender Equality Policies in Science, Technology and Innovation, Universidad Politécnica de Madrid. Around two hundred participants from 40 countries and five continents engaged in its discussions, providing inputs from a wide diversity of academic disciplines. The papers engaged with contemporary challenges to the urban environment, with specific reference to their gender dimensions and the promotion of gender equality.
