About the Journal
Founded in 2000 by Franco Buffoni, trame di letteratura comparata (ISSN 1720-5417) is a peer-reviewed academic journal dedicated to the advanced analysis of foreign cultures and literatures, examined through both their specific traditions and a comparative perspective. It provides a platform for cultural debate among Italian and international scholars.
trame is published annually, with each issue focusing on a monographic theme chosen by the editorial board. Articles are accepted in French, English, Italian, Spanish, and German, and are subject to a double-blind peer-review process.
trame di letteratura comparata is currently edited by Maria Teresa Giaveri in collaboration with Roberto Baronti Marchiò, scientific director of TECNAL (Laboratory of Technology, Narrative, and Language Analysis) at the Department of Human, Social, and Health Sciences of the University of Cassino and Southern Lazio.
The journal is classified by ANVUR as a Class A journal for Area 10.
The journal is structured into several sections (not all of which may appear in every issue) designed to channel and organise news, information, and essays, as well as creative and translation-focused works:
-
'la voce' (the voice): features contributions from established authors in the field of literary criticism;
-
'dimore' (dwellings): dedicated to the monographic theme chosen by the editorial board;
-
'caleidoscopio' (kaleidoscope): expands the monographic theme to broader scopes and includes miscellaneous articles;
-
'alfieriana': a section dedicated to studies on Vittorio Alfieri;
-
'officina' (workshop): reserved for translation and translation studies;
-
'poiein': focuses on modern and contemporary art or poetry, featuring texts by national and international authors;
-
'agorà': provides news and reports on initiatives within the fields of foreign and comparative literatures;
-
'finestre' (windows): dedicated to reviews.
The journal's contents are open access, as the editorial board believes that the free circulation of ideas and research results fosters the growth of knowledge and the consolidation of democracy.
