Abstract

The article focuses on Di Giacomo's contribution in shaping the image of Naples, in the transition from capital to province of the new State and from an archaic city to the more modern physiognomy imposed by the 'Risanamento'. The picturesque characterizes the representation of the city, in a strongly transmedia context with photography predominating, Di Giacomo promotes a series of successful editorial initiatives, in which the range of landscapes around Naples is expanded to include Caserta and the memories of the past kingdom.
