Abstract

During first three decades of the 20th century the firm Richter & C., that was active in Naples as publishing house and typography, has produced a lot of iconography for the tourism sector. In this period of time, the company managed to gain almost a monopoly of the advertising prints for luxury hotels throughout Italy and in some foreign countries. The Richter & C. has produced postcards, luggage labels, brochures and posters, thanks to the collaboration of refined artists. Hits production was characterized by a unique landscape painting, depicting the grand hotels according to commercial needs and tastes of that era.
