Abstract

Migrations are one of the most powerful factors in the history of humankind and transform societies. Southern Italy, which has been for years the destination of huge fluxes, is a privileged European observatory for such transformations. The contribution discusses the results of a research-action developed in Southern Italy in 2016. Segni di futuro is a project involving Third sector managers in a research laboratory with the aim to identify the signs of current transformations and the symptoms of future ones. The points of strength of the research, which has been lead with strate- gies and techniques of visual sociology, consist in a reflection on methods on visual research and on the social construction of the point of view.

Gaia Peruzzi, University of Sapienza, Rome, Italy

She is Associate Professor at University of Rome Sapienza, where she teaches “Sociology of Cultural Processes”, “Sociology of Communication and Fashion”, “Enterprise Communication Management”. She taught in the Uni- versity of Florence, Pisa, Sassari, Rome Tor Vergata, Rennes 2, Paris VIII. Her main publications: “Amori possibili” (FrancoAngeli, 2008); “Immagini in movimento. Lo sguardo del cinema italiano sulle migrazioni” (con G. Gianturco, edizioni junior, 2015).

Raffaele Lombardi, University of Sapienza, Rome, Italy

He is a Research Fellow of Sociology of cultural and communicative processes at Sapienza University of Rome. His research interests presently revolve around the role of culture and communication for no profit organizations, communication of social themes, leadership and gender issues in organi- zations. He wrote: Heritage University. Comunicazione e memoria degli atenei (Aracne, 2015).
