Abstract

The essay is a careful and deep reflection about the book of Rosario Diana, Disappartenenza dell’Io. Filosofia e musica verso Samuel Beckett (Editoriale scientifica, Napoli, 2016). In harmony with the contents of the book – which is attached a CD of music written by six composers (Salvatore Carannante, Chiara Mallozzi, Lorenzo Pone, Rosalba Quindici, Bernardo Maria Sannino, Giancarlo Turaccio) based on the interpretative paradigm developed by Diana in his work –, the Author deepens the context of modern philosophical meditation (Descartes, Leibniz, Locke, Berkeley, Vico), the foundation of many of Beckett's works, in the light of the following interconnected thematic pins: eye, hand, body.
