Abstract

This essay explains the process of composing of an audio-video: Voci da una “Vita”. Un’esecuzione di brani dalla “Vita di Giambattista Vico scritta da se medesimo” (1723-28. The Author composed it in 2018 for the celebrations of the 350th anniversary of Giambattista Vico’ birth. But he also gives a theoretical justification for the operation. He compares this performative product with another disseminative form, that he pactises: reading for music, a public execution of a philosophical text with music, that a composer writes for the occasion. The general aim is to disseminate philosophical contents through the audiovisual and musical arts.
