Abstract

This article exposes the account of the Franciscan theologian Matteo d’Acquasparta
on the problem of eternity of the world. Matthew discusses the position of Thomas
Aquinas but affirms the demonstrability of the non eternity of world. The Franciscan
elaborates some proofs that exclude not only the possibility of an eternal world but
also of an eternal creature.
