Abstract

If the “anti-modernity” category arises irreducibly with the temporal idea of modernity, what happens, or, what has already happened to this category at the end or out of modernity? In this article we will try to give an answer to this question, using Antoine Compagnon’s afterward as a starting point. But how should this interpretative category be reformulated and repositioned today that, as Compagnon suggests, there is no avantgarde and no triumphant modernity, in order to read our present as well?
