This study focuses on the dialect of Gesualdo, a small town in the province of Avellino, famous for its history, linked to the Gesualdo family and Prince Charles, who is known in Europe for his musical compositions. In this work we present some results of an ethnolinguistic investigation conducted through semi-structured interviews with elderly people, which made it possible to collect evi-dence on everyday life in the past. The interviews provided a corpus of 23 eth-notexts, from which a glossary of over 550 terms was compiled. A short essay from the larger work, consisting of four ethnotexts and a glossary of 50 terms concerning domestic life, is presented here.
