Digital competences are an essential component for the continuous learning and professional development of teachers. The European Commission has introduced several frameworks to support the development of these competences, also for professionals in the educational sector. With the rapid spread of Artificial Intelligence (AI), the need has emerged to update these frameworks to address educational challenges and further qualify teachers’ design and evaluation skills. The research question which this paper seeks to answer is: what is the relationship between teachers’ planning competences and the effective use of generative artificial intelligence (GAI) systems in supporting planning and didactic action?
