Abstract

This article attempts to analyse the figures of origin (most of all familiar) in Rimbaud’s transition from verse to prose, more specifically from the “derniers vers” to the prose poems of Une saison en enfer. Through a stylistic and thematic study, it questions the letter and meaning of a corpus of poems, in order to show not so much the clear distinctions as the progressive nuances that appear in the texts as regards the evolution of the original figures.

Author Biography

Alessio Baldini, Sorbonne Nouvelle

Alessio Baldini holds a PhD in French Literature and Civilization. In February 2025, he defended a thesis, jointly supervised by the University of Pisa and the Sorbonne Nouvelle, on the prose poem and the press in the second half of the 19th century in France, which is the result of a review of archival funds and a historical reflection on this poetic genre. He is mainly interested in textual genetics and literary history (Baudelaire, Rimbaud, Huysmans, Camille Lemonnier), as well as the relationships between the press and literature and between poetry and painting.
