Abstract

The topic to which the monographic issue of the journal is dedicated is explored in an interview with Paolo Terracciano, Head Writer of Un posto al sole. Long seriality, soap operas are here intended as the contemporary form of the representation of the everyday life. The interview exsplores how storylines are developed, how the lifes and the relationships of the main characters are represented, how the sense of a common life is potrayed on screen, and what it takes to write daily events for the screen.

Author Biography

Marco Viscardi, University of Naples Federico II

Marco Viscardi taeaches humanities in high schools. He has a PhD in Modern Literature (University of Naples Federico II), and was a Fellow Reseacher at the Istituto di studi storici di Napoli. His contributions on satyre, european nolvels, and on authors such as Giusti, Manganelli, Tomasi di Lampedusa, Bianciardi, Defoe, Sterne, Sebald, has been published in volumes and journals. He collaborated to the new edition of the Promessi sposi (directed by Francesco de Cristofaro), and is co-editor of the book Il borghese fa il mondo.

Paolo Terracciano is Head Writer of Un posto al sole, RAI 3.
