Antonio Cassarino was the first humanist to systematically translate Plutarch’s Moralia. The study of Cassarino’s Latin translations and their reception in the Aragonese humanistic literature of southern Italy allows us to reconstruct a first phase of the fortune of moral Plutarch in the humanistic age.
