Abstract

During the 15th century, the progressive Turkish expansion into the southern Balkans and the eastern Mediterranean posed a growing threat to the powers present in that region. Italy was obviously heavily involved. This work analyzes the role of Alfonso the Magnanimous and the Kingdom of Naples in this context through the most up-to-date bibliographical references, attempting to offer some new insights.
