Author Biography

Martina Motta, Università degli Studi di Pavia

Martina Motta is a research fellow in Modern History at the University of Pavia. She specializes in environmental history, with a particular focus on mining and local resistance movements under the ancien régime. Her research has been presented in international academic contexts, such as the Construction History Society, the European Rural History Organisation, the Institute of Landscape and Urban Studies at ETH Zurich, and the FBK - Italian-German Historical Institute in Trento. Since 2014, she has been developing research projects for international cultural institutions, including the Venice Architecture Biennale, MAAT - Museum of Art, Architecture and Technology in Lisbon, Oslo Architecture Triennale, and Rotterdam Architecture Biennale. She has worked at OMA - Office for Metropolitan Architecture in Rotterdam. In 2018, he coordinated the Publications Department of the 12th edition of Manifesta - European Biennial of Contemporary Art. He is currently part of the editorial staff of Zapruder.
